About
Reflected Words was created by Caroline Pearce, a professional ghostwriter, biographer, audio biographer, storyteller and creative innovator who has enabled families, charities and corporate clients to tell their stories - in their words - for more than twenty years.
Caroline’s passion for biography and constructing personal narratives began when helping a relative to write about her memories of growing up as a Barnardo’s child in the 1930s to share with her grandchildren. Having previously gained a BA in English & Creative Writing, Caroline was inspired to continue her studies at the University of East Anglia on the Biography & Creative Non-Fiction strand of its world-renowned Creative Writing MA.
With more than twenty years of experience of interviewing and writing biographies for a broad range of clients, Caroline Pearce is a sensitive, empathetic and methodical interviewer and listener. Caroline believes that every person’s story is valuable and worth preserving.
At Reflected Words we appreciate the importance of such narratives for families. Many people wish they had asked their grandparents questions about their lives, where they came from, what their childhood home was like, what hobbies or activities they enjoyed, how they met, what it was like to live through a war or a pandemic, what drove them to choose a particular profession, what their own parents were like, and so much more. When clients are interviewed it often triggers long-forgotten memories giving them the opportunity to recall particulars and poignant details of a story they may not have thought of for years, which can then be preserved and shared with their loved ones.
As well as Reflected Words, Caroline takes on biography projects of a wide variety including her work with The Audio Biographers, and as a ghostwriter with Story Terrace.
